Voice of Democracy
Established in 1947, our Voice of Democracy® audio-essay program provides high school students with the unique opportunity to express themselves in regards to a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay. Each year, more than 26,400 ninth through 12th grade students from across the country enter to win their share of more than $1.4 million in educational scholarships and incentives awarded through the program.

The national first place winner receives a $35,000 scholarship paid directly to the recipient’s American university, college or vocational/technical school. A complete list of other national scholarships range from $1,000-$21,000, and the first place winner from each VFW Department (state) wins at least a scholarship of $1,000. Students interested in participating must submit their audio essay prepared on this year's theme, with a completed 2025-2026 entry form, to their local participating VFW Post. Find your sponsoring local VFW Post as essays must be turned in by midnight, Oct. 31.

From all of the members of Roma VFW Post 9175, lets remember all Warriors who are not here with us this Memorial Day Weekend. City of Roma and VFW Post 9175 will have a Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony at the City of Roma Cemetery. Remember to replace your loved ones USA Flags.

The Wall That Heals was setup by 2 JROTC schools from the Laredo, TX area. They completed the task in temperatures of 105°. Thank you volunteers!

Roma Veterans at the Roma ISD transfer of properties. The School District gained a great Hall to host school events. Us Veterans, in exchange received a smaller building for our meetings and small events. Turn key ready!

Our Post will relocate to 802 Garcia Street, Roma TX 78584. The VFW Hall was sold to the School District to better serve the community. Grand opening soon....

friends of the Roma Veterans of Foreign Wars, the members just want to thank the Roma Community for the long support for us War Veterans. If you have not heard, we sold our Veterans Hall to Romaisd. Due to COVID and low number of rentals for our hall, we decided to offer the building to the school district for the continue use for the community. Romaisd has taken over the use of the building and has done a magnificent job renovating the hall for student and administration to use for years to come. We will around in our new location, will publish the details on a later date. Thanks again....
