DEAR LEGION FAMILY AND SISTER POSTS...

I COME TO YOU THIS EVENING WITH SAD NEWS.... A CO-WORKER OF ONE OF OUR LEGION RIDERS HAS LOST THEIR 10-MONTH OLD DAUGHTER. AT THIS TIME OF INCREDIBLE CHALLENGES AHEAD, WOULD YOU ALL PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT OUT OF YOUR DAY AND SAY A SPECIAL PRAYER FOR THE PARENTS OF THIS CHILD. WE CAN ONLY IMAGINE THE INCREDIBLE HEARTBREAK THEY ARE EXPERIENCING RIGHT NOW. THE POWER OF PRAYER IS GREAT. IF WE CAN PROVIDE SOME SEMBLANCE OF COMFORT TO THESE GRIEVING PARENTS THROUGH SIMPLE PRAYER, HOPEFULLY WE WILL HAVE HELPED IN SOME SMALL WAY. THANK YOU ALL FOR ALWAYS RESPONDING WHEN I ASK FOR PRAYERS.

American Legion Post 47 and Post 69 provided sixty Thanksgiving dinner baskets with all the fixings to active-duty military families. The Commissary and their patrons provided an additional forty-five dinner baskets. This helps those active-duty military households that might not have a Thanksgiving meal to congregate over food and experience some warmth and joy.

A thank you note was placed in each basket, “The American Legions Post 47 and Post 69 have come together to provide something we hope will bring you comfort and happiness. We express our gratitude through a Thanksgiving dinner, acknowledging your and your families' commitment to our nation. As the year concludes, we recognize that memories can be a mix of the cherished and the challenging for everyone. Please know how deeply thankful we are for your sacrifices.

The Chaplain Team is so grateful to the American Legion Family who gives tirelessly with thousands of hours volunteering and executing fundraising events all year long to make this happen. You are making a difference! Thank you!
