Our 42 sworn shift members break down by rank as follows:

3 Battalion Chiefs
6 Lieutenants
33 Firefighter/ Paramedics. We have a minimum daily

staffing of 11 Firefighters divided between two fire stations. In service everyday is 1 Battalion Chief (Bat 15), 1 Truck (T15), 1 Fire Engine (E16), and 2 Ambulances (A15 & A16). Squad 15 is manned when staffing allows. A joint Fire Marshal from the Palatine Rural Fire Protection District is shared between the two departments. The Training Chief conducts training sessions, live fire burns, mass casualty drills, company drills, and fireground evolutions. The International Firefighters Association Local 3075 represents all Lieutenants and Firefighters. Each station has an ALS (Advanced Life Support) Ambulance and an ALS Fire Company. Most of the Firefighters voluntarily participate in one or more of the special teams and/or committees. Reserve equipment is staffed by a callback of off-duty Firefighters. Training for new Firefighters takes two or more years; starting with the Fire Academy, EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) and Paramedic Training. Advanced and specialty training follows after basic training. This is the official page of the Rolling Meadows Fire Department.

Today, our department was honored to provide an engine company to assist the Schaumburg Fire Department, allowing their members to attend the funeral services for one of their own.

In addition, our personnel paid their respects by attending the wake and funeral services. We also worked alongside the Arlington Heights and Mount Prospect Fire Departments to help staff Station 52 during this time.

We extend our deepest condolences to the Schaumburg Fire Department and the family, friends, and colleagues of their fallen member.

Rolling Meadows Fire Department extends our deepest condolences on the passing of North Maine Fire Protection District Lieutenant Andy Klatt.

Andy dedicated his life to the fire service, serving nearly two decades with Northfield Fire-Rescue and 18 years with the North Maine Fire Protection District. His leadership, commitment, and impact on those around him will not be forgotten.

He was more than a firefighter—he was a mentor, a brother, and a friend. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who had the honor of serving alongside him.
