The City of Rolling Meadows was incorporated in 1955 after the original developer, Kimball Hill, constructed affordable housing for post World War II veterans and their families, as well as Chicagoans who desired a suburban lifestyle. Since then, Rolling Meadows has developed into a mature community with a population of 24,099, diverse in religious, ethnic, and economic backgrounds. Nestled in the

heart of the Golden Corridor, near Woodfield Shopping Center and Arlington International racetrack, Rolling Meadows is close to O'Hare airport as well as an excellent public transportation and expressway system. Careful zoning and attention to detail have allowed the city to integrate a well managed park and recreational system into the residential areas of its seven square miles. Corporate headquarters of many Fortune 500 companies as well as small business employ about 44,000 people and comprise a major part of the city's stable revenue base.

🚧 Seal Coating Scams: What You Need to Know 🚧

We’ve received reports of individuals going door-to-door offering “leftover” seal coating materials at a discounted price. While it may sound like a great deal, these situations are often scams.

⚠️ Common red flags:
• Claims of leftover materials from a nearby job
• Pressure to make a quick decision
• Requests for cash-only payment
• No written estimate or contract
• Unmarked vehicles or lack of business identification

🛑 Protect yourself:
• Always research the company before agreeing to work
• Ask for proof of insurance and proper licensing
• Get multiple quotes from reputable contractors
• Never feel pressured to commit on the spot

If something feels off, trust your instincts. Report suspicious activity to your local police department.

Let’s work together to keep our community safe and informed.

🚨 Community Safety Alert: “Senior Assassin” Game 🚨

As graduation season approaches, we want to make our community aware of a popular high school activity known as “Senior Assassin.” An incident involving this game occurred in a nearby town that resulted in a school being placed on lockdown.

This game typically involves students being assigned a “target” and attempting to eliminate them using water guns or other versions of replica fi****ms such as airsoft guns. While often intended as a fun tradition, the way the game is played can create serious safety concerns.

🔹 Why this is dangerous:
• Participants may be seen carrying objects that resemble real fi****ms
• Suspicious behavior (following someone, hiding, approaching homes/vehicles) can lead to 911 calls
• Encounters with unsuspecting residents or officers can escalate quickly
• Players sometimes trespass or engage in dangerous driving to “get” their target

🔹 Our concern:
Even if the intent is harmless, these actions can easily be misinterpreted as real threats. In today’s environment, that misunderstanding can have serious consequences.

🔹 Our message to students and parents:
We strongly discourage participation in games that involve ambushing others or simulating violent behavior in public. We ask parents to speak with their teens about making safe choices and understanding how their actions may be perceived by others.

👮‍♂️ If you see suspicious activity, please call it in. We will always respond to ensure the safety of our community.

Let’s work together to keep everyone safe while still celebrating the end of the school year in positive and responsible ways.
