Rolla is excited to welcome the Route 66 Main Street of America Centennial Caravan this Sunday, June 21 as it rolls into town on its cross-country journey celebrating 100 years of the legendary Mother Road. The caravan, made up of twelve classic cars, is traveling across all eight Route 66 states and stopping in communities along Historic Route 66 to celebrate the people, stories, and places that keep this iconic highway alive.

Also joining the caravan is the iconic Big Texan Steak Ranch, bringing their famous 72-ounce Steak Challenge to Rolla! Watch as a local competitor takes on the legendary meal from their restaurant in Amarillo, TX.

We invite the public to come downtown and be part of the excitement as Rolla becomes one of those special stops on the journey.

This year's Ranney Run to benefit the new Rolla Animal Shelter will be held Saturday, September 19th at 8 am. This year's Dog Show will have a costume theme and the Puppy Parade is always entertaining. Come join us. Let's finish our new shelter by the end of this year. 🐾💕🎉👏🐶😍

The Phelps County Clerk’s Office has informed us that they are experiencing a shortage of volunteers to work at polling places for upcoming elections. Registered voters are encouraged to participate and help ensure smooth and well staffed Election Day operations.

Available Shifts Pay:
• Full Day: 4:30 a.m. to after 7:00 p.m.
• Half Day: 4:30 a.m. to noon or noon to after 7:00 p.m.
They pay $225 for a full day, and $112.50 for a half day.

Required Training:
All poll workers must attend a one hour training session at the Phelps County Courthouse. The upcoming training dates are:
• June 24 at 8:30 a.m.
• June 29 at 8:30 a.m.
• July 7 at 1:30 p.m.

If you are interested in serving as a poll worker or would like more information, please contact the Phelps County Clerk’s Office located at the Phelps County Courthouse.
