Get ready for deer season and earn your certification! Join us for a Hunter Education Skills Session hosted at Eugene E. Northern Community Hall. Passing this session and the final exam awards you a temporary certificate so you can purchase your permit and hunt right away.

Event Details

Date & Time: Monday, September 14, 2026 | 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Location: Eugene E. Northern Community Hall (400 W 4th Street, Rolla, MO 65401)

Cost: FREE (Advance registration required)

Important Prerequisites & Requirements

Age Limit: Participants must be at least 11 years old. Students under 16 must present proof of age (birth certificate, passport, or photo ID with birthdate) at check-in.

Knowledge Portion: Must be completed prior to attending the session. Complete the online version (fee applies) or fill out the student manual chapter review questions and bring the booklet to class for instructor review (free).

Student Manuals: Available for pickup at the Rolla MDC Office (12655 State Route Y, Rolla, MO) or downloadable online at mdc.mo.gov/hunting-trapping/hunter-education/hunter-ed-study-guide-order-form.

Certification Requirements: Complete the skills session and pass the 35-question multiple-choice exam with an 80% or better.

Health Note: Please self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms before attending and stay home if exhibiting symptoms.

Ever wanted to test your skills with an ancient hunting tool? Join the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) and Rolla Parks & Recreation for a FREE Introduction to Atlatl class!

Discover how our ancestors connected with the world over 15,000 years ago using this unique, primitive projectile launcher—and try hitting the targets yourself. All necessary equipment will be provided!

⏰ Time: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

📍 Where: Kittie Robertson Soccer Field in Ber Juan Park (1100 E 18th Street, Rolla, MO 65401)

If you're planning to participate in the Community Development City of Rolla 26/27 Archery Deer Season, you must first attend one of the listed orientation classes

Due to the weather and cooler temperatures, tonight’s Adult Night Swim & Concert has been cancelled.

We are disappointed that we won’t be able to enjoy this event with everyone, but we plan to bring it back next season!

Photos from a recent monument dedication at Veterans Memorial Park. This most recent monument was completed as an Eagle Scout project by Mason Hirtz and honors military working dogs and military families

From Mason, about his project:
The Military Working Dog monument has been my Eagle Scout Project for the better part of nearly two years. Countless husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, sons and daughters have returned home because of the selfless service of our nation’s Military Working Dogs. I hope this monument in the Veterans Memorial Park will honor the devotion and selfless sacrifice of these animals and be a place of reflection for those who have served with and whose lives were saved by these amazing heroes.
