Last, but certainly not least, please help us give a big, round of applause to Mrs. Ruth Diaz, Early Childhood Careers Instructor, who was selected as Rolla Technical Institute & Center's final Most Valuable Bulldog of the year! 🎉 The MVB is a true example of kindness, resilience, and Bulldog spirit. Here are a few comments from her nominations:
"She never fails to help students when in need of anything, always keeps the classroom environment happy, and she literally teaches two classes at once, balancing between preschool and high school students. She's amazing."
"Mrs. Diaz is currently playing a pivotal role in the future of Early Childhood in our district. She has been working tirelessly to integrate RTI/C students into the new Early Childhood Facility. This collaboration is a game-changer, providing her 11th and 12th-grade students with unparalleled hands-on opportunities while supporting the district's early childhood programming."
Thank you, Mrs. Diaz! Congratulations!

We are still celebrating our amazing staff and their accomplishments from 2025-26! Please help us give a big, round of applause to Ms. Makenzie McCarter, Third Grade Teacher, who was selected as Elementary 's final Most Valuable Bulldog of the year! The MVB is a true example of kindness, resilience, and Bulldog spirit. Here are a few comments from her nominations:

"Before having her own classroom, she worked as a paraprofessional, so she already understood how important it is to meet kids where they are. Even back in high school, she chose to spend her A+ hours in the classroom. Teaching has always been something she moved toward, not something she just fell into.
What stands out most is the way she connects with her students. Third grade is a big year. Kids are gaining confidence and independence, and she takes that seriously. She celebrates their progress, encourages them when they struggle, and makes them feel proud of themselves. She puts in extra time, brings positive energy into her classroom, and truly cares about each child. Her students know they matter to her, and that makes all the difference."
"She exemplifies confidence and care in everything she does. She continuously takes the extra step to ensure each child feels seen and understood. She never backs down from a challenge, yet handles each one that comes to her with grace. From creating a safe space for the children to learn, have fun, and excel in their dreams. She fills every student with confidence, and makes sure that is reflected across the board."
Congratulations, Ms. McCarter! Thanks for all you do!

We’ve been made aware that citizens in the region are receiving phone calls from what appears to be the main district phone number (ending in -0100). There is no message content to the calls when answered. The Rolla Police Department is investigating and has determined that the calls are originating from an out-of-town, unauthorized user. If you receive one of these calls with no message content, please hang up immediately. If the caller harasses or threatens you, please report the call to RPD. A legitimate call from the Rolla School District will always come from a staff member or contain content from our mass communications system.

At this time, the incident does not appear to include any student or family data, nor does it appear to involve any of our communications vendors. We appreciate the quick response from the Rolla Police Department and hope the issue is resolved quickly. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

The Rolla Board of Education attended the Missouri School Boards' Association this past weekend, where they were presented with the MSBA Board Governance Award for the 13th consecutive year! This award is based on a school board’s outstanding commitment to ongoing professional development in areas such as student achievement, school law and finance, board operations, and contemporary issues in education. The award also recognizes the board’s commitment to regional and statewide leadership and to active participation in legislative advocacy for public schools and the students they serve. Only 26 other districts in Missouri were awarded this distinction, a true testament to the hard work and dedication of the board members.

Keep the applause going for our last few MVBs of 2025-26! Congratulations to Ms. Sandra Diaz, R31 Bus Driver, who was selected as the final district-level Most Valuable Bulldog of the year! The MVB is a true example of kindness, resilience, and Bulldog spirit. Here are a few comments from her nominations:
"Sandra Diaz goes above and beyond every single day for her students and other staff. Sandra is at the bus barn longer than almost anyone else, but you'll never hear her complain. She goes out of her way to make the students on her route and on her shuttles feel special, safe, and valued. She is a friend to everyone in the bus barn, lending helpful tips, bringing lunches, or just listening to whoever may need an ear. On more than one occasion, Sandra has given up her time, which is scarce between her positions, to run an extra shuttle or give another employee a ride. Sandra has been known to sit and give time to the students on her bus by listening to their woes and offering calculated and caring advice. Sandra never asks for recognition and frequently shares that she is here every day, without fail, simply because she wants to be. For almost 12 years, she has embodied the traits that everyone should strive to have: compassion, empathy, dedication, patience, modesty, and a student-centered mindset. Sandra truly is THE Most Valuable Bulldog, and she is more than deserving of District-Wide Recognition."
Thank you for all you do, Sandra Diaz! 🐾
