As we pause today, September 11, to remember the lives lost and the heroes who responded 25 years ago, we look ahead to a meaningful day of community and reflection.

Join us this Saturday, September 12, for a meaningful day in Rolesville. Begin the day with the Rolesville Runs to Remember 5K and 1 Mile Walk for Heroes, followed by the Honor & Remembrance Event commemorating 25 years since 9/11. Let’s gather to reflect, remember, and honor our first responders and those lost.

Heads up! Vendor scam messages are going around for Fall FunFest. Unsure whether a vendor message is legitimate?🤔 Check out the following guidelines from Rolesville Parks & Recreation!

🚨 VENDOR SCAM ALERT 🚨
We have been made aware of scammers targeting our community. Fraudulent accounts are contacting local businesses through social media and email, falsely claiming to be Fall FunFest organizers and demanding immediate vendor fee payments. Please do not fall for it!

Protect your money and your business by keeping these important rules in mind:

• We will never DM you first - Legitimate event communications will never start with a random message or a comment.
• Check the email extension - Official communications will always come from our dedicated domain, rolesvillenc.gov, never from a generic or personal gmail.com address.
• Watch the payment methods - Scammers love untraceable apps! We will never ask you to send money via peer-to-peer apps like CashApp, Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal Friends & Family.
• Verify before you pay - There is no application fee! Vendors will receive an invoice via RecDesk before the payment deadline. Payments are only accepted through RecDesk or the Town Hall Finance Department.

We handle our official vendor spots securely! If you are ever unsure whether a message is genuinely from us, stop and contact the Parks and Recreation Department directly.
