On 10/18/25, Officer Castro made contact with Matthew Brummitt and Amber Wade for active warrants. During the stop, Sgt. Stansell deployed his K9 partner Mija around the couple's vehicle. K9 Mija alerted to the presence odor of narcotics. Methamphetamine, ma*****na, and drug paraphernalia were located in the vehicle after conducting a probable cause search of the vehicle. Mr. Brummitt was also in possession of a prohibited firearm. Mr. Brummitt was charged with unlaw possession of a controlled substance, possession of ma*****na, and drug paraphernalia. Ms. Wade was charged with unlawful possession of controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

On October 9th, 2025, Jessica Davis of Rogersville was arrested for active warrants. During the arrest Officer Castro located Methamphetamine, He**in and Fentanyl in her possession. Jessica Davis was charged with 3 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Suspect is innocent until proven guilty.

On September 30th, 2025, Edwin Schmidt was arrested on an active warrant. During the arrest, methamphetamine was located on his person. Mr. Schmidt was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. His warrant was later served.

Suspect is innocent until proven guilty.

09/20/2025

On September 19th, 2025, Officers responded to a call regarding a theft from a local business. Officers reviewed surveillance footage and quickly identified a suspect. Officers went to the suspect's house and located Corey Simbeck asleep in his vehicle. After the investigation, Mr. Simbeck was charged with the following crimes:

Theft of Property 3rd
Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)
Unlawful Possession of Ma*****na 2nd
Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Suspect is innocent until proven guilty.

The 32nd Annual Trail of Tears Motorcycle Ride is scheduled for this Saturday, September 20th. The ride will enter Rogersville between 12:30 and 1pm. Delays should be expected along Highway 72. Use extra caution while driving. Remember, look twice and save lives!

On 09/05/25 Officer Castro conducted a traffic stop on Matthew Brummitt. During the traffic stop, Sgt. Stansell deployed his K9 partner Mija for a narcotic sniff around the vehicle. K9 Mija alerted to the odor presence of narcotics coming from the vehicle. Probable cause search was conducted, resulting in Methamphetamine, controlled substance pills, ma*****na, drug paraphernalia, and a loaded firearm. Mr. Brummitt was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance, possession of ma*****na, and drug paraphernalia.

Suspect is innocent until proven guilty.

If you are scheduled to appear in Court on June 4th and wish to plead guilty and make payment prior to June 4th, please ensure arrangements are made before Monday, June 2nd. Please note that payment processing will not be available on June 2-3.

Anyone that fails to pay prior to the court, is required to appear in court on the scheduled court day. Failure to do so, will result in suspension of your driver's license and warrant for your arrest.
