⚠️ Flash Flood Watch Issued for Monday ⚠️

Isolated storms will bring the risk of very heavy rainfall on Monday.

These storms are expected to produce very heavy rain over small areas. While one county may receive 3 or more inches of rain, a neighboring county could receive very little rainfall.

The highest risk for heavy rain is currently west of I-75, but heavy rainfall and localized flooding cannot be ruled out anywhere in the region.

🌧️ Heavy showers are expected to move into the area Monday morning and remain in the region through the rest of the day.

What Has Changed:
• Flash Flood Watch issued for East Tennessee and Southwest North Carolina from 7:00 AM until 9:00 PM EDT Monday
• Flash Flood Watch issued for far Northeast Tennessee from 12:00 PM until 9:00 PM EDT Monday due to the later arrival of rainfall

Residents are encouraged to remain weather aware and monitor forecasts throughout the day. Never drive through flooded roadways. Turn Around, Don’t Drown.

This time of year, we receive many calls about seemingly “abandoned” fawns. In most cases, these fawns are not abandoned — they’re simply waiting for their mothers to return.

It’s completely normal for a doe to leave her fawn alone for several hours at a time. She does this to avoid attracting predators.

Fawns are born with very little scent and instinctively stay still, helping them remain hidden and safe.

What should you do if you find a fawn?
- Leave it alone.
- Only move it if it is in immediate danger for example, if it is lying near a busy road or in a high-traffic area.
- If necessary, gently move it to a nearby safe, shaded spot close to where you found it.
- Do not feed or attempt to care for it yourself.
- TWRA does not rehab or relocate fawns.

Please help us spread the word by sharing this post.

Showers and thunderstorms will move north into the area this afternoon through late tonight. Heavy rains, with rainfall of 1 to 3 inches per hour at times, will accompany these showers and storms and could lead to isolated flash flooding. The areas of most concern would be along and west of the Interstate 75 corridor, but heavy rains will be possible area wide.
