Hawkins County General Sessions Court Hawkins County General Sessions Court, Judge J. Todd Ross. The Hawkins County General Sessions Court is served by Judge J.

Todd Ross, and serves the citizens of Hawkins County, Tennessee, in matters of Criminal and Civil Litigation. Court is held each Monday and Wednesday in Rogersville. Traffic Citations and Arraignments begin at 9:00 am. The docket for cases set for hearing or trial begins at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. Court is held at the Church Hill City Hall on the first and third Tuesday of each month with the docket

beginning at 9:00 am for Criminal Cases and 10:00 am for Civil Cases. Court is also held on Thursday and Friday by special setting, or for such things as cost reviews, case reviews, jail arraignments, etc. Anyone who misses a scheduled Court appearance is strongly encouraged to contact the Court immediately upon discovering their error. In an effort to clarify the number and types of Criminal cases filed in Hawkins County General Sessions Court, we will try to provide weekly updates on the types and number of new criminal charges filed.

For the week of April 6, 2026, there were 34 new criminal charges filed. Of those, 5 involved drug possession. There were three cases filed by Mount Carmel PD, One by Kingsport PD, and one by the Sheriffs Department. The majority of cases involved Driving on Suspended License, with a few DUI's, Assaults, Resisting Arrest, and one charge of Att. First Degree Murder.

Due to current weather and road conditions, and with little chance of improvement before tomorrow morning, Hawkins County General Sessions Court will be closed on Monday, February 2, 2026. All cases set for Monday will be reset to Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at the same time.
