Rogersville Water will be installing a valve approximately 150 feet north of the 4-way stop near the intersection of Hwy 207 (Wheeler St) and College St. The Water Department asks the public to avoid this section of roadway on Monday, March 23 and Tuesday, March 24 during daylight hours. Thanks

The Rogersville Water Department will conduct smoke testing of sewer lines in Rogersville this week, focusing on the Deer Ridge and Comer subdivisions today. This testing utilizes mineral oil heated to produce a v***r, which is injected into the sewer lines to detect leaks. Although the v***r may temporarily escape into residences, it poses no health risk.

Rogersville Water Works will be smoke testing behind Food Land today. Any drain in your home or business that connects to the sewer system (commodes, shower stalls, etc.) could emit small plumes of 'smoke' during such testing. The smoke is a mist containing a high concentration of atmospheric moisture, highly visible at low concentrations. It is non-toxic, and it will disappear rapidly without leaving an odor.
