Fireworks are no joke!

Thinking about lighting up the sky this Fourth of July? Read this first:

In 2022, fireworks caused over 31,000 fires across the U.S., resulting in 6 deaths, 44 civilian injuries, and over $100 million in property damage.

Injuries from fireworks keep rising every year. To stay safe, remember:
- Only adults should light fireworks
- Follow manufacturer’s guidelines
- Light fireworks away from people, buildings, and other flammable materials
- Light one at a time and never relight a dud
- Soak used fireworks before disposing of them

Reminder:
- You can only use fireworks on July 2-4, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- No fireworks allowed on city owned property
- No “bottle-rocket” type fireworks

Want to enjoy fireworks without the risk?
Join us for the City of Rogers Fourth of July fireworks show launching from the Mercy Trailhead around 9:15 p.m. We’ll be there to manage safety so you can relax and enjoy the show.

At 4:51 p.m. today, the Rogers Fire Department responded to Whole Foods for a reported fire alarm activation. Upon arrival, crews observed what appeared to be steam or smoke coming from the building and upgraded the incident to a structure fire response out of an abundance of caution.

The building was safely evacuated while firefighters investigated the source. Crews determined the issue was caused by a refrigerant leak. The leak was quickly isolated and stopped, and no occupants reported any injuries or illnesses.

There is currently no danger to the public. The cause of the refrigerant leak remains under investigation.

The Rogers Fire Department is an all-hazards (fire, emergency medical, hazardous materials, and technical rescue) department. Last week, crews participated in vehicle extrication training scenarios. These videos show different stages of the extrication process in which C-Platoon removed a "patient" from an overturned vehicle.

Compassion in Action

Members of the Rogers Fire Department care for people during some of the hardest moments of their lives. There is an added feeling of helplessness when your child is in need.

Recently, we received a heartfelt letter from a mother whose young daughter experienced a febrile seizure at a water park on Memorial Day. While our crews provided the emergency care she needed, it was the small acts of kindness that left the biggest impact - like turning on Bluey in the ambulance to help comfort a frightened little girl.

Many of our firefighters and paramedics are parents themselves, and that instinct to comfort, reassure, and care for a child comes from experiences they understand firsthand. Behind every uniform is a person who brings compassion, empathy, and humanity to every call.

Thank you to Kaine Kennedy, Jonathan Ponthieux, Bogdan Bartlett, Schuyler Brennan, David Williams, Connor Cawthon, Tanner Horlick, and Michael Minton for representing Rogers Fire Department with professionalism, kindness, and heart. We are proud of the care you provide to our community every day.

Today, we received a heartfelt note from a family expressing gratitude for the care and kindness shown after their mother suffered a fall. The reassurance and professionalism provided during a stressful time made a lasting impact.

We would like to recognize Jonathan Ponthieux, Anthony Romano, Mason Drumm, Tucker Minor, and David Williams for representing the very best of the Rogers Fire Department. Their commitment to serving others with skill, compassion, and professionalism makes our department proud.

Thank you for making a difference when it mattered most.

This week marks the final stretch for recruits at the Spring 2026 NWA Fire Training Academy.

After 10 weeks of training, they’re just days away from graduation. We’re proud of the effort each recruit has put in and can’t wait to see what’s next for them.

Sharing some of our favorite moments from the academy as they finish strong this week!

Last week, members of the Rogers Fire Department took part in the annual Police vs. Fire Kickball Game during the City of Rogers Summer Celebration. Friendly competition between our departments is always a highlight, and this year was no exception!

While the real win is the strong partnership we share in serving our community, we'll admit it's nice to bring home the trophy too.

Shoutout to the 2026 NWA Spring Academy for showing up and showing out to support Team RFD!

A big thank you to the Rogers Police Department for a great game and for making us earn every run. We appreciate everything you do for our community—both on and off the field.
