Eastside Elementary is a Title One school, with a Great Expectations philosophy. The staff shares the vision for all students to be successful achievers in all aspects of life. Great Expectations teachers respect students' abilities and teach from the belief that ALL children can learn. This year, we are adding the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey to our students' tool belt of good choices. We will also provide trainings to parents throughout the year.

Our students had a wonderful time on their first field trip to Apple Seeds Farm and Mt. Hebron Park!

At Apple Seeds Farm, they enjoyed hands-on experiences with planting, harvesting, and preparing a fresh snack and dip. Students learned about healthy eating, the different parts of plants and discovered what plants need to grow and thrive.

It was a fun-filled day of learning and exploring!

If your student is running in the Cross Country Race next Tuesday, you can pick up an Eagle jersey from Mr. Cantwell by the registration tent before the run or you can check one out from Mr. Cantwell on Monday before the race and he will send it home with your student so they will have it. They will need to return it the day after the run.

Next Tuesday, September 15th is the first Elementary Cross Country Meet! Students can sign up at the ​Meet or use the QR Code (hopefully it works). K-2 students run .5 mile, 3-5 students run 1 mile.
Location is at the RHS Cross Country Course ​South of Mountie Stadium off Dixieland Rd.

Race Dates are 9/15 | 9/29 | 10/12
All Races at Rogers High School South of Mountie Stadium on Dixieland Road
$5 Per Race Day
Can Register at meet or Pay Ahead of Time with QR code.
Top 15 Boys & Girls In Each Race Will Earn Medals
Athletes need to arrive at least 30 minutes before their races.
4:00 PM -- 6th-8th Grade- Run 2 miles
4:30 PM -- K-2nd Grade- Run .5 mile
5:00 PM -- 3rd-5th Grade- Run 1 mile

Eastside runners wanting to wear an Eagle shirt can find Mr. Cantwell before the races by the registration tent.

We have the dates for the Elementary Cross Country Meets. We are still waiting on the Location, Times, and Entry process information but wanted to get the dates out. The meets are after school hours for Kindergarten through 5th graders. More information will be sent on Parent Square and put on the school page when Mr. Cantwell receives it.
