Public Information Meeting - Lake Road Water/Sewer/Pavement Improvement Project and Bradstreet's Landing Auxiliary Parking

The City of Rocky River will host a public meeting at 6:30pm on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Memorial Hall in the Don Umerley Civic Center, located at 21016 Hilliard Blvd, to discuss improvements to Lake Road as part of the Lake Road Watermain, Sewer, and Pavement Improvement Project. These critical improvements will provide upgrades to deteriorated sewers, watermains, and roadway (including curbs, aprons, and curb ramps) while also addressing multimodal transportation with the addition of an off-street multimodal trail on the north side of Lake Road. The project will also include the addition of an auxiliary parking lot for Bradtreet’s Landing and pedestrian safety measures to cross Lake Road.

The City’s consulting engineer, Mannik & Smith Group, Inc., representatives from OHM Advisors, and the city administration will discuss the proposed roadway changes and other elements of the project.

Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to attend, learn more about the project, and provide input. For this project to be successful, clear communication and coordination with residents is essential, and we strongly encourage your attendance.

If you have any questions or are unable to attend and wish to provide input, please contact Rich Snyder, Director of Public Safety-Service, via email to [email protected].

We look forward to seeing you at the meeting.

Gasser Blvd - Lead Service Line Project - Important Traffic Update

Cleveland Division of Water is currently undertaking lead service line investigation and replacement on Gasser Blvd, and has identified a very high number of lead connections. This work has necessitated the use many steel plates in the street.

To reduce the impact on residents and protect motorists, Gasser Blvd will become one way with traffic moving from Center Ridge Road to Hilliard Blvd beginning this afternoon (May 7th) until completion, which is expected by May 15th.

During this time, there will be no on-street parking on Gasser Blvd.

Thank you for your patience and please plan your commute accordingly.

📅 When: Saturday, May 9, 2026
📍 Where to Watch: Residents are encouraged to gather at Bradstreet’s Landing or Rocky River Park to catch a glimpse of the ship as it passes close to shore.

The USS Cleveland is a Littoral Combat Ship and the fourth Navy vessel named after the city of Cleveland. To help welcome the crew, 1,000 honor flags will be distributed at both viewing locations.

In preparation for this special event, the Rocky River Service Department will be performing beach clean-up operations today, at Rocky River Park beach Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
