At CFRC, we are focused on providing medical, surgical, and rehabilitative pre-release services to birds of prey with the highest level of patient care. The center was founded by Dr. Joni Shimp, DVM, a licensed falconers and active conservationist. Cape Fear Raptor Center is a NC Non-Profit Corporation with 501(c)3 status. CFRC has grown in leaps and bounds over the last 5 years and we are very excited to be partnering with the Town of Belville to bring Southeastern NC a year round, family centered, educational facility where you will be able to see our magnificent birds up close and personal. With a 3 year goal, we plan on building our Center, increasing our community involvement in helping teach people the importance of raptors in our local ecosystem. In 2017, our educational ambassadors have seen the faces of over 35,000 adults and kids collectively during educational programs and events. Look around our website and if you have any comments or questions, please feel free to contact us. We hope to see you again! Check back soon...There’s much more to come!
