Congratulations to Felissa Wellman, a social worker with Wilson County Schools, who won a ONEBox while attending the Mind & Body: Addressing Adolescent Substance Use and Mental Health Conference earlier this month!

The ONEbox is an emergency opioid overdose reversal kit designed to promote safety by assuring that individuals have life-saving, on-demand training when and where they need it.

When asked about her experience at the program she stated, "This seminar completely changed my view on recovery, instead of just focusing on the behavioral aspect of any addiction. It provided tools to heal the mind and body connection. I left today feeling empowered and with a better understanding on how to assist the students and community I serve."

NC AHEC Director, Hugh Tilson, also joined the meeting during his visit to the region and shared insights on workforce needs both statewide and regionally. We look forward to seeing how this discussion and new initiative shared will impact students, employers, and the community.
