Our Westlake branch, located in Hardy, is part of the Smith Mountain Lake community. Along with our Bookmobile, we serve the 56,000-plus residents of Franklin County.

You can sign up by going into one of our library branches and showing a photo ID with your current address, or a photo ID with a piece of official mail that has your current address on it!

We have some changes to our weekend schedule!

We'll now be closing at noon on Friday, September 4th and stay closed through Monday, September 7th in honor of Labor Day!

Normal hours will resume Tuesday, September 8th, at 9am. We'll see you then!

We have so many other things you can take home, learn, and do at the library.

From DVDs and audiobooks to crafting kits, programs that can teach you how to cook or do yoga, or a wide array of digital resources that can help with things like tutoring and book publishing, we really do have it all!

Sign up for a library card today by coming by one of our branch locations! Bring a current photo ID with your address on it, or a current photo ID and a piece of mail with your address on it.

Our teen programs this fall are getting a refresh! Learn some cooking skills at Teen Cuisine! Practice your artsy side with Teen Crafternoons. Try something new with Teens Try. And more fantastic fun!

To make sure everyone has a great time, we are now requiring teens and guardians to sign a permission waiver prior to attending any teen program which covers guidelines and policies for these programs.

If you want to participate, you can stop by the children's circulation desk to read and sign the form.
