Due to the threat of severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes and damaging high winds during the day tomorrow, Edgecombe County Public Schools will be closed on Monday, March 16.

This decision was made after consulting with the National Weather Service and Edgecombe County Emergency Management. As always, we want to ensure the safety of our students and staff. Please stay safe and take all needed precautions for the approaching storms.

Today we were thrilled to welcome some very special guest readers from D.S. Johnson — students who are also proud former FES Jaguar Cubs! 📚🐾

Our students loved having these amazing readers visit their classrooms in honor of Read Across America Week. It was wonderful to see our former Jaguar Cubs come back and share their time, enthusiasm, and love for reading with our current students.

Thank you to the D.S. Johnson students for being such outstanding role models and for making today so special. We are always proud to see our Jaguar Cubs continue to grow and give back! 💛

Today we were honored to welcome several wonderful guest readers from our community who spent time sharing stories with our students in celebration of Read Across America Week! 📚✨

Our Jaguar Cubs truly enjoyed listening, learning, and engaging with each reader. Moments like these help spark a love for reading and show our students how important literacy is in every part of life.

A heartfelt thank you to our community members who took time out of their day to pour into our students. Your presence, encouragement, and enthusiasm made today extra special!
