Thank You to all the teams who competed at the 18th Annual Eastern Carolina BBQ Throwdown! We had a phenomenal competition that featured 45 competitive cook teams.

Congratulations to Smoke Central for being named Grand Champion who also won in 2024! Congratulations to Smokin Skullies for their Reserve Grand Champion and to Alpine Smoke Works for 1st place in People's Choice!

Additionally, as the final stop of the North Carolina Soybean Producers Association's Triple Bean Triple Crown Series, Hold Your Horses BBQ won 1st Place!

Attached to this post are the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each of the four categories (Beef Brisket, Chicken, Pork, Pork Ribs) as well as Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion, 3rd Place Overall, 1st Place People's Choice, 2nd Place People’s Choice, 3rd Place People’s Choice and 1st, 2nd and 3rd for the Team Bean Triple Crown Series.

We are two months out from this year’s Eastern Carolina BBQ Throwdown in Rocky Mount! We are still in need of Cook Teams for the competition. Check out the flyer below featuring the prize purse for the competition!

Alongside these prizes, there will also be prizes from the North Carolina Soybean Producers Association for their Team Bean Triple Crown Competition and the Mid Atlantic Barbecue Association for their State Cup Competition.

Thank You to all of the teams who competed at the 17th Annual Eastern Carolina BBQ Throwdown! It was a great competition in a new location, and we were glad to see lots of returning teams as well as some new ones!

Congratulations to Smoke Central for being named Grand Champion, to Fred Vegas Smokers for their Reserve Grand Champion and to Big Boy’s BBQ for 1st place in People's Choice.

UPDATE!

The registration deadline for Cook Teams and all Vendors (Food, Commercial, Non-Profit and Arts & Crafts) has been extended to Monday, September 30th. Applications have been updated to reflect this on the BBQ Throwdown Website

The Eastern Carolina BBQ Throw Down® is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) and their representatives will be present. The contest consists of four KCBS categories (chicken, pork ribs, pork & beef brisket) which are required entry in order to qualify for the Grand Championship. Pr...

This year’s Eastern Carolina BBQ Throwdown will now be held at the Rocky Mount Event Center located at 285 NE Main Street.

The webpage for the BBQ Throwdown has been updated to reflect this change and it features driving directions towards the bottom of the page.
