ROCKY MOUNT POLICE DEPARTMENT MAKES SECOND SUSPECT ARRESTED IN PNC ROBBERY
AUGUST 29TH UPDATE:
The Criminal Investigations Division has been diligently working this case. On August 28, 2023, Rocky Mount Police officers located Pitt during a traffic stop. Pitt was arrested and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, felony conspiracy, and five counts of child endangerment. Pitt received a total bond of $1,064,999.96 secured and remains at Nash County Jail.

Rocky Mount, North Carolina–At 11 a.m. on Aug. 23, 2023 officers with the Rocky Mount Police Department responded to 1280 Benvenue Road (PNC Bank) for a bank robbery call.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect, 28-year-old Montrell Pitt,was armed with an edged weapon and demanded money from the teller. After obtaining the money, Pitt fled the scene in a stolen silver Toyota Tacoma.
Pitt abandoned the stolen vehicle along Airport Road in Rocky Mount. Investigators located the vehicle and confirmed that it has been reported stolen from the Center Street area just prior to the robbery.
Police soon concluded that Pitt got into another vehicle driven by 32-year-old Iesha Lloyd. Lloyd had her five children in the vehicle.
Lloyd drove Pitt from the scene and was later located in Edgecombe County on Silent Night Hill Road. The Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office assisted in a vehicle traffic stop, which resulted in Lloyd's arrest.
Lloyd is charged with conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, accessory after the fact, and five counts of child endangerment. Lloyd received a total bond of $1,000,000 secured and remains at Nash County Jail.
Pitt fled from the vehicle and is still at large.
Arrest warrants were obtained for Montrell Pitt for robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and five counts of child endangerment.
Pitt is wanted by the Rocky Mount Police Department and is considered to be armed and dangerous.
None of the children were injured during the incident. They were placed into temporary custody with a family member.
The amount of money taken is not being released at this time.
This incident is under further investigation.
The Rocky Mount Police Department wants to encourage the community to be vigilant and lock their vehicles when unattended at all times.
