Thanks to the efficient work from CDC and U.S. Food and Drug Administration officials, the Cyclospora outbreak linked to iceberg lettuce has officially ended. At this time, there is no risk of people getting sick with cyclosporiasis from this source.

Visiting animal exhibits is a fun fair tradition, but it's important to stay healthy while enjoying the animals.
✅ Wash your hands with soap and water immediately after visiting animal exhibits, touching animals, or coming into contact with animal areas.
⚠️ Remember: While rare, animals can carry diseases that can spread to people. Recently, North Carolina health officials investigated potential rabies exposures linked to infected baby goats at a mobile petting zoo, highlighting the importance of avoiding contact with animals that appear sick and promptly reporting any bites or scratches to fair staff and a healthcare provider.
