It’s that time of year again — deer are beginning to leave their fawns in quiet areas while they search for food. Although it may seem unusual, this is completely normal behavior.

Please do not touch, move, or pick up the fawns. The mother is usually nearby and will return to check on and care for them. Human interaction can sometimes do more harm than good.

There is no need to contact the DNR or Police Department unless the fawn appears injured, is continuously crying, or has been left alone for 72 hours or more.

Thank you for helping keep our local wildlife safe and wild!

Please enjoy the weekend safely, keep those heroes and their families in your thoughts, and never forget the price that was paid for our freedom. 🇺🇸

I almost forgot This week is EMS Week, and we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible men and women who answer the call — day or night, rain or shine, caffeine or no caffeine.

Thank you for your dedication, compassion, and sense of humor during life’s toughest moments. Whether it’s a major emergency or someone who “just Googled their symptoms,” you show up ready to help.

We appreciate your service, your sacrifice, and everything you do for the community.

Happy EMS Week — the real superheroes ride in ambulances! 🚑💙

Good news, everyone: we believe Smokey the Bear has officially checked out of city life and headed back to the woods. We haven’t had any sightings since last week.

However, if you do happen to see a bear — and yes, we mean an actual bear, not someone wearing a fuzzy coat — please contact the DNR or the Police Department right away.

Remember: if it’s taller than your trash can and helping itself to a picnic basket, it’s probably not lost… it’s a bear.

Today, the Champions Preschool crew stopped by the station during Police Week to visit the Lt. — and let’s just say they arrived fully prepared to win over the department with Tim Hortons doughnuts and some awesome handmade pictures in support of Police Week.

We truly appreciate everyone stopping by and helping make our day a little brighter. Thank you for the support, the artwork, and the sweet treats! 🚔🍩
