The Rockwall Police Department Narcotics’ Unit, along with the DEA Group 2 Dallas Field Division, Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office, Hunt County Sheriff's Office, and the Flower Mound Police Department were recently presented with the Texas Narcotics Officers Association Multi-Agency Unit of the Year Award. This prestigious award was the result of Operation “Can You Hear Me Now?” which began in January 2025.

The collaborative investigation has targeted an international drug-trafficking and money-laundering organization. Through coordinated enforcement efforts and strong partnerships, the investigation resulted in more than 110 arrests and the dismantling of eight clandestine laboratories. Investigators seized more than 3,000 kilograms of methamphetamine, 750 kilograms of co***ne, 30 kilograms of he**in, 15 kilograms of fentanyl, and more than 100 fi****ms.

We are honored to recognize the dedication, professionalism, and teamwork of those who helped disrupt this dangerous criminal organization and make our communities safer.

Today, we celebrate a major milestone for The REC Yard - Reentry & Recovery and the Rockwall County Sheriff's Office — the first graduating cohort of our in-jail substance use treatment program!

These participants chose to take a meaningful step toward change while still incarcerated, doing the hard work of understanding their patterns, building new skills, learning relapse-prevention strategies, and preparing for life after release.

Thank you to our dedicated Fugitive Recovery and Investigative Units, along with our valued partnerships with the Collin County Sheriff's Office McKinney, Texas and our federal partners. Through your hard work, collaboration, and commitment to keeping our communities safe, we were able to locate this fugitive from justice and successfully place him into custody.
