MCCH was honored to participate in today's Community Homeless Memorial Service in Rockville, reading the names of those who died while experiencing homelessness over the past year. The service, hosted by the Interagency Commission on Homelessness, featured words of hope, poetry, and song. As we honor those we have lost, we also lift up the lives we have helped stabilize and sustain. Safe, stable housing paired with compassionate services saves lives. The Memorial reminds us why we do this work and why, together, we must continue.

The Biomed Society at Watkins Mill High School graciously collected and donated medical supplies to Nebel Street Emergency Shelter. MCCH CEO Jen Schiller and Chief Program Officer Endrias Afework visited the school and presented certificates of gratitude to Dawit Zewdie, founder and president of the group, and each student who participated in the project. Their generosity will ensure our shelter residents have access to essential care when they need it. We love when students take an interest in the work we do at MCCH!

We are grateful to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.-Theta Omega Omega Chapter for installing a vegetable garden at Nebel Street Emergency Shelter. Sorors built two 4 ft. x 4 ft. raised beds outside the kitchen entrance and planted tomatoes, green peppers, and basil. This generous gift will help bring fresh produce to the shelter and support our commitment to nourishing the men we serve through community partnership.

Huge thank you to the Knights of Columbus Sullivan Brothers Assembly and the Archdiocese for the Military Services for dropping off move-in kit items and gift cards for our Veterans moving into permanent supportive housing. We so appreciate your commitment to our mission.
