💤 Safe Sleep Starts Here 💙
The Parke County Health Department is offering FREE sleep sacks to help promote safe sleep practices for infants in our community!
Sleep sacks are a safer alternative to loose blankets and can help reduce the risk of sleep-related infant deaths by providing a safe and comfortable sleep environment.
Safe Sleep Tips:
✅ Always place babies on their backs to sleep
✅ Use a firm, flat sleep surface
✅ Keep blankets, pillows, and toys out of the crib
✅ Use a wearable blanket or sleep sack instead of loose bedding
Stop by the health department to learn more and pick up a free sleep sack while supplies last!

☀️ Protect Your Skin This Summer! ☀️
Sunscreen isn’t just for the beach — it’s important anytime you’re outdoors! Help protect yourself and your family from sunburn, skin damage, and skin cancer by applying sunscreen correctly.
✅ Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher
✅ Apply 15–30 minutes before going outside
✅ Don’t forget ears, neck, feet, and lips
✅ Reapply every 2 hours — and after swimming or sweating
✅ Wear hats, sunglasses, and seek shade when possible
Even on cloudy days, UV rays can still damage your skin. Stay safe and enjoy the sunshine responsibly! 🌞🧴

Fresh fruits and vegetables from local farmers markets are a great way to support your community and enjoy healthy foods this summer! 🍓🌽🥬
Before eating fresh produce, remember these simple safety tips:
✔️ Wash your hands before handling produce
✔️ Rinse fruits and vegetables under running water
✔️ Scrub firm produce like potatoes, cucumbers, and melons
✔️ Dry produce with a clean towel or paper towel
✔️ Keep raw meats separate from fresh produce while shopping and storing
Washing produce helps remove dirt and germs and keeps your family healthier all summer long!
