Parke County Health Department will be closed Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day. Let's honor those who gave all. Have a safe and happy weekend. We will reopen Tuesday, May 26th.
Here are a few food inspections to send you into the weekend:

4/30/26-Guion Hill-Approved to open as a Certified Kitchen-Violations-5

P-(1)-No sanitizer bucket on site-will get one.

Pf-(3)- Will be installing a new hand wash sink-non one on site.
No certified food manager on site-Elsie will be getting her ServSafe renewed.
Sanitizer test kit not onsite-will order one.

C-(1)-Need a lid on the trash can in the restroom.

5/14/26-The Gaebler Cafe-Violations-4
P(1)-Employee believes PIC(person in charge) is working on an employee health policy.

Pf-(3)-Parfait not date marked-discarded.
Eggs stored on wrong shelf-corrected on site.
Employee unaware of a kit for vomit/diarrheal clean up.

5/15/26-The 1880 Mustard Seed-Violations-2
Pf-(1)- PIC not certain of proper cooling methods-gravy was taken out of crock pot to cool-PIC didn't know when it should be refrigerated. We discussed that food must be cooled from 135 degrees F to 41 degrees F or less in 6 hours provided the food is cooled from 135 to 70 degrees F within the first 2 hours.

C-(1)- Bottled water stored on the floor-t must be at least 6" off the floor.

5/15/26- Golden Forrest- 0 Violations-kitchen is very clean and well organized.

5/21/26- Ditzler's Orchard-0 Violations.

5/21/26- Dollar General Rosedale- 0 Violations-store is very clean and in nice condition.

5/21/26-Bear's Coffee & Roasting- Violations-1-
Pf-(1)- Sandwiches are not date marked-repeat violations.
Sandwiches are made and then frozen; we discussed that once they come out of the freezer, they must be date marked.
