Democratic Business Council of Maryland

Democratic Business Council of Maryland The Democratic Business Council of Maryland is a forum for business oriented Democrats to network and advocate for common sense solutions for businesses.

The Democratic Business Council of Maryland (DemBizMD) provides opportunities for Democrats and like-minded Independents to meet and network with other professionals, as well as local, state, and federal elected officials and candidates. Additionally, DemBizMD hosts speakers and programs of interest to the Democratic business community. The Democratic Business Council of Maryland (“DemBiz”) was es

tablished to provide a voice to business oriented democrats in Maryland, to change the perception that Maryland is not business friendly and to advocate for policies which are business friendly, but with a democratic bent. The organization was modeled from the Democratic Business Council of Northern Virginia which was established over 15 years ago and been very successful. DemBiz Maryland holds meetings where democrat business owners can have constructive dialogues with elected leaders regarding business policies. We believe that the relationship between business and the democratic party is important. Business is jobs, business is the economy, business is our standard of living. We want a voice for those interests within the democratic party. DemBiz was established to be that voice. For too long Maryland has been viewed as not being business friendly. Our founding members were tired of the perception that Maryland Dems are hostile to business and wanted to demonstrate that Maryland and its democrats welcome business. We want to advocate for policies that are business friendly. We intend to do it without copying republicans. We do it better. We respect workers. We respect families. We respect diversity. Because of that we can and will build a better and more successful business environment.
