The Rockville City Police Department is advising motorists to avoid the area of Courthouse Square due to an active gas leak investigation.

The following road closures are currently in effect:
Courthouse Square between Maryland Avenue and N. Washington Street
N. Washington Street between E. Jefferson Street and E. Middle Lane

Please seek alternate routes and allow for additional travel time if you are commuting through downtown Rockville.

Emergency crews are on scene working to resolve the issue safely.
