The initial focus will be to assist and support Veterans, Reservist, National Guard, Public Health Officers, Active Duty, and family members such as the individual defines family. key individuals that are involved with their healthcare and well-being) As the organization grows or an overwhelming need arises, this initial focus may be expanded to provide services to other populations of need as the
Board of Directors sees fit. Assistance and Support will be non-clinical services that are inclusive but not limited to those that are/were wounded, ill, injured, other individuals with chronic illness, life-altering ailments with health, including individuals that were exposed to and endured life-altering events and/or situations that have left psychological scars hindering the healing process. (Documented or not documented by the DOD/GOV systems)
Assistance and Support will be identified on an individual case-by-case method to maximize the individuals and families ability to navigate various DOD, VA, and nonprofit systems, to acquire any resources available to offset factors that have affected their Physical, Social, Personal, Spiritual, and/or Environmental wellbeing which we call Zones. We will target the following areas: wellbeing, Transition, Connections, Resources and offer assistance and/or support in building these target areas to improve quality of life. These target areas are often off balance and/or neglected as the individual and family unit prepares and transitions from the known Military System to their post service system. Many service members will avoid the established health systems and benefits due to real and perceived difficulties of finding appropriate services. Assistance and Support will be tailored to introduce, educate, and engage, the individual and/or family unit with additional integrative health care options such as but not limited to Mind and Body Practices (Acupuncture, Massage Therapy, Meditation, Movement Therapy, Relaxation Techniques, Spinal Manipulation, Tai chi, Yoga, Reiki, and Healing Touch) Other wellness assistance/support such as Assistant Therapy Dogs/Service Dog Training or other supporting activities such as but not limited to creative activities like Art, Writing, Therapeutic Recreation, other activities that engage to promote physical health, mental health and/or a stronger family unit. We intend to have fun and educational (retreats, workshops, recreational outings, volunteer training, and outreach events. July 2013
