Big news for Montgomery County!
We’re officially cutting the ribbon on the Equipment Maintenance and Transit Operations Center (EMTOC) on Wednesday, April 30, 2026 at 16700 Crabbs Branch Way.
Why this matters to our community:
🚌 Home to the country’s largest transit depot microgrid — solar power, right onsite, charging our electric bus fleet
⚡ Resilient, clean energy that keeps buses running even during outages
💚 Phase II will use that same solar to produce green hydrogen
🌱 Builds on the success of our Brookville Smart Energy Bus Depot
This is what sustainable transit looks like. It’s the result of years of work by our Department of General Services teams, partners, and neighbors who believe in a cleaner future.
Come celebrate with us on April 30! Let’s mark this milestone together.
