Job well done!

The 398th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion (CSSB) marked the end of its deployment during a Transfer of Authority ceremony with the 406th CSSB, held March 31, 2025. The ceremony signified the successful completion of a mobilization in support of Operation Spartan Shield within the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.

While deployed, the 398th - comprised of five companies operating across seven countries - executed critical sustainment support operations. This included water purification, fuel storage and distribution, ammunition management, maintenance support, and convoy operations.

The 398th is proud of its soldiers' accomplishments over the past year. Everyone worked incredibly hard and exceeded all expectations placed on them by their leadership.

Thank you to the families, friends and fellow soldiers who supported the battalion through phone calls, letters, care packages, emails and countless other ways. Your support made all the difference.

β™  Read 'em and weep! β™

The 398th CSSB hosted a battalion-wide spades tournament Dec. 28, bringing morale to the troops amidst the holiday season. Teams across Task Force Legion participated in a round-robin style tournament, culminating in the final round with the remaining two teams. After hours of play, the winners were none other than Maj. Cory Pugh, battalion executive officer, and Chaplain Anna Broadbent - the tournament organizers!

Thank you to all who helped by setting up, providing music, or cheering on our competitors.

The 398th CSSB's holiday party was a hit!

Thanks to Soldiers' Angels and Grace Episcopal Church in Silver Spring, Maryland, our soldiers received holiday care packages and gift bags this Christmas season!

The holiday party also included an ugly Christmas sweater contest, musical chairs, and giant Jenga. Thank you all for the great music, great food, and great camaraderie all around.

Happy Holidays! πŸŽ„πŸŽ…

The 398th CSSB HHC conducted a STAFFEX during their Annual Training event at Joint Base McGuire Dix Lakehurst. During this 4 and a half day event, the staff received a mission and conducted the Military Decision Making Process to decide on the best course of action to accomplish the mission. The training was a great success, as many of the newer Soldiers in the formation were integrated into the team in their new roles. In the end, 1LT Andrew Mack, SGT Tiana Frisby, and SGT Nathan Back we're chosen as heroes of the Battle by our First Army partners.

We'd like to extend our thanks and appreciation to our First Army partners in facilitating our training exercise as well as to the staff at the Mission Training Center for allowing us to use their training facility for the entirety of our annual training and for all their gracious support throughout.
