The Montgomery County Council held its 6th Annual African Heritage Month commemoration today, hosted by Council President Natali Fani-Gonzalez and the rest of the Council.
This year’s theme, “Building Montgomery County: African Voices Making a Difference” honors the rich history, culture, and contributions of African communities in Montgomery County.
The event featured a Council proclamation and a special video highlighting local African leaders making a difference:
- Juliet Marandure, Founder and owner of Blooms by Floribunda
- Lahai John, a.k.a. DJ Philo Flexx, an event promoter and DJ
- Ruth Jalloh, Owner of Rhuth’s African Kitchen
