Meet Bedelia! 🐾

Bedelia is a sweet 9-year-old girl with a heart full of love and a smile that can brighten anyone’s day. She was adopted from us as a puppy and spent many years with her family, but sadly, they recently found themselves unable to care for her anymore. Now, Bedelia is back with us and looking for the home she deserves. ❤️

She’s a friendly, easygoing companion who knows how to sit like a pro and loves meeting new people. Bedelia would do best as the only pet in the home, as she prefers not to share her space with other dogs or cats. She’s also not a fan of having her feet touched, but she’s more than happy to trade paw handling for belly rubs, tail wags, and quality time with her favorite people. 🥰

After giving so much love to her family over the years, Bedelia is ready for a fresh start and a new family who will love her through all her golden years. Could you be her person? 🏡🐾

🐾 Hi, I’m Maven! 🐾

I’m a 3-year-old lovable pup who believes there’s nothing better than a good walk, a comfy spot to relax, and plenty of belly rubs. I love being the center of attention and will happily soak up every bit of love you’re willing to give!

I can be a little cautious when meeting new people, so I do best when introductions happen slowly and at my own pace. The same goes for other dogs. Once I’m comfortable, I enjoy having respectful canine friends around! I’d prefer a home without cats or other small animals.

The way to my heart? Treats!❤️ I’m very food-motivated, which makes training fun, and I already have great potty manners. I’m also comfortable in a crate and settle in nicely.

When I get excited, I can be a little jumpy, so I’d do best with kids 10 and up who can help me keep all four paws on the floor.

I’ve got a lot of love, a playful personality, and plenty of belly-rub requests waiting to be fulfilled. Could you be the person I’ve been looking for? Come meet me, I can’t wait to say hello! 💕🐶

We need your help! 🐾❤️

Every cat and dog that comes through our doors has a special story, and we strive to make their stories as compelling as possible when seeking their new homes. Great videos can make all the difference – the difference between just scrolling and stopping to say, “That’s my dog!”

Nationwide, dogs have a much harder time getting adopted these days. To help them, we really need better equipment. The DJI Osmo 3 camera is ideal – it can help us better capture their candid, natural, and best moments, and give them more chances to shine. 🎥🐶 ❤️

💙 Meet Nova! 💙

Nova is a 3-year-old bundle of energy, smarts, and personality who is ready for a family to call her own.

Nova was adopted from MCHS as a puppy, but when her family’s circumstances changed and they could no longer care for her, she found her way back to us. Now, she’s settling back in, reconnecting with her friends, and patiently waiting for the next chapter of her story to begin. 🐾

Once Nova gets comfortable, her playful and affectionate personality really shines. She’s a smart girl who loves learning new things, especially when treats and toys are involved! Rope toys and squeakies are some of her absolute favorites. 😝

Nova already knows “sit,” walks nicely on a leash, and generally keeps her kennel tidy. She’d love an active family who can keep her busy with exercise, enrichment, training, and plenty of attention.

She’d do best with older kids ages 11+ and in a home without cats or small animals. When it comes to meeting other dogs, Nova prefers to take things slow and get to know them at her own pace.

Nova has already known what it’s like to have a family. Now she’s hoping her next family will be the one she gets to stay with forever. ❤️

SCAM ALERT regarding lost pets!

Please be advised that unscrupulous individuals are impersonating the Montgomery County Humane Society and asking for payments for “surgeries” on lost pets.

This is a SCAM!

These scammers are apparently trolling lost pet notifications, then calling the pet’s owner and telling them their pet has been found, is currently at MCHS, and is badly injured and needs, or needed, immediate “surgery.” The owner is asked to pay a deposit for the “surgery” in advance, or to pay for a “surgery” that has already been performed, before they can pick up the pet.

Please be advised that MCHS does not take in any stray animals. By law, stray pets must go to the Montgomery County Animal Services & Adoption Center (Phone: 240-773-5900). If an injured pet is brought to our facility, we will immediately report it to the County shelter, which will take custody of the animal. Further, our spay/neuter clinic does not treat any pet without an appointment and the owner’s full knowledge and permission. We will never call a pet owner asking for money to perform surgery on a lost pet.

🐾 Hi, I’m Shadow!

I’m a 4-year-old Hound mix, and I may be a little shy when we first meet. But give me some time to feel comfortable, and you’ll get to see the playful, loving pup underneath. ❤️ I’m looking for a patient family who understands that the best friendships sometimes take a little time to build.

Once I trust you, I’m all about fetch, cuddles, exploring, and showing off those happy tail wags!🎾

Because new situations and little ones can make me nervous, I’d do best with dog-savvy kids ages 13 and up. I’ve also made a few canine friends here, but I can be selective about who I hit it off with, so I’ll need slow, thoughtful introductions to any potential doggy siblings.

I’m a sporting breed with a higher prey drive, so I’m looking for a home without cats or other small animals.

If you’re willing to give me the time and patience to let my personality shine, I’ll reward you with a loyal best friend who’s ready to share plenty of adventures, cuddles, and love. 🐶❤️
