It was an honor to join Liberty Hose Co. # 2, Captain Neckles, East Rockaway Fire Department,
Chief Matt Pignataro,
Village of East Rockaway Mayor Fox, Deputy Mayor Romano, colleagues in government, families and friends of the honorees, volunteer firefighters on Saturday afternoon to celebrate an incredible milestone of 50 years of service for Honorary Commissioner Frank Cerasoli and Honorary Chief Douglas D. Dake.
Frank and Douglas have been pillars of the East Rockaway Fire Department and steadfast champions of the community they have proudly served for five decades! Close friends since elementary school, they joined the department together as they graduated ERHS in 1976, beginning a remarkable journey of friendship, service, leadership, diligence and dedication that has spanned generations.
Throughout their 50 years of service, Frank and Douglas have answered countless late-night calls, mentored new members, led committees, taken on leadership responsibilities, and consistently gave their time, energy, and expertise to Liberty Hose Co. #2, the East Rockaway Fire Department to protect and serve the residents of East Rockaway and the greater community.
I extend my sincere congratulations and gratitude to Frank and Douglas for 50 years of exceptional service and steadfast commitment. Their sacrifice, work ethic, and remarkable contributions have left a lasting impact in the ERFD and on the East Rockaway community. I also want to express my appreciation for their wives and children who were always there to support them and the community.
Thank you to Ex-Chief Jack Felbinger and Ex-Captain Brian Boll for leading the Reception Committee and acting as the Masters of Ceremonies and all the members of Liberty Hose Co. #2 for hosting this special celebration. I am grateful for your continued commitment to serving and protecting our communities!
