If you have electronics in need of recycling, please be aware of this upcoming collection event.

BIG - BIG - NEWS!
We are having a FREE Electronics Drive this Saturday, September 19, from 9 am - Noon at UIC - the University of Illinois College of Medicine parking lot. We will take that broken tv or old computer from you along with keyboards, mice, printers, servers, video game consoles and more! Sorry but we will not accept trucks, trailers or business electronics. Also PLEASE NOTE: Our recycle centers will be closed this Saturday.

Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, The Village of Rockton comes together in solemn remembrance.

We pause to honor the 2,977 innocent lives lost on that fateful day. We carry their memory in our hearts, and our thoughts remain with the families who continue to mourn.

We also reflect on the extraordinary courage of the first responders—the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and everyday citizens—who ran toward danger to save others. Their selflessness reminds us of the profound strength found in unity and service.In our own community, let us honor this day by reaffirming our commitment to kindness, resilience, and neighborly support.

Together, we remember. We will never forget.

The Village of Rockton has received a Bronze designation from the national Charging Smart program for encouraging the efficient deployment of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure! A Bronze designation shows we have met national best practices to remove barriers to EVs at the local level.

REMINDER: Sewer cleaning is ongoing. These measures will occur through September 25th. During this process, residents may experience a rumbling sound. In addition, the possibility exists for water to enter sinks, bathtubs, showers, toilets, and floor drains. Please take precautions to prevent water damage in your home. Follow the directions on the yellow door hanger where possible.

Areas to receive cleaning include: Collins, Dewey, Armstrong, Bunn, E. Warren & E. Franklin, E. Chapel, E. Union, N. Bridge, W. Mechanic, W. Main, and Race.
