September is National Su***de Prevention Month

Check in on the people in your life, be kind, listen without judgment, and remind them that asking for help is a sign of strength. Wanting or needing help is not weakness.

If you or someone in your life is struggling with mental health, call or text 988. You can also chat online at www.988lifeline.org. Services are available 24/7/365.

The world is better because you’re in it. You are seen, valued, and never alone.

You never know what you’re going to come across while out on patrol.

Last week, Officer Flanders spotted a plume of smoke in a Rocklin neighborhood and headed that way to check it out. When he arrived, neighbors were already using garden hoses to fight a small fire, so he jumped in to help. Sergeant Paxton soon joined, and together they worked alongside the neighbors to get it under control while waiting for the fire department to arrive.

📱 Eyes up. Phones down.

Caught using your cellphone while driving? It could cost more than a text.

Distracted driving puts everyone on the road at risk. Keep your hands on the wheel, your eyes on the road, and your phone out of reach.

Don't text and drive, Rocklin!

There’s so much more to our officers, and Sergeant Guillermo is a perfect example.

A few weeks ago, Sacramento Republic FC invited him to perform the National Anthem at First Responders Night. His impressive voice and ukulele skills captivated the crowd and showcased a talent we’re proud to celebrate.

When he’s not serving, Sergeant Guillermo coaches local youth soccer teams, giving back to the community in another meaningful way.

Thank you, Sergeant Guillermo and Sacramento Republic FC, for an unforgettable evening!

It's National Police K9 Day! 🐾 Today we’re celebrating the four-legged members of our team.

Let’s hear it for K9s:
Dallas and his handler Officer Verber
Blue and his handler Officer Westfall

These dogs don’t just do incredible work, they’re also some of the best partners, ride-along passengers, and furry friends. Hardworking, courageous, loyal, and always ready to lend a paw, they truly are the goodest boys around!

The Rocklin Police Department continues to bring monthly awareness to different traffic issues within our city. In partnership with California’s Pedestrian Safety Month campaign, we would like to focus on pedestrian safety, especially since our community just recently returned to school. Please talk with your children about the following rules of the road.

🚶 Pedestrians 🚶‍♀️:
• Use a crosswalk whenever one is available.
• Stay alert and avoid distractions, including phones and headphones.
• Make sure approaching drivers see you before stepping into the roadway.
• Follow pedestrian signals and cross only when permitted.

🚲 Bicyclists, 🚴 e-bikes, 🛴 e-scooters:
• Bicycles, e-bikes, and e-scooters are considered vehicles while riding, meaning they need to stop for stop signs, and ride in the same direction as vehicle traffic.
• In Rocklin, bicycles may ride on the sidewalk, but still must ride in the same direction as motor vehicles.

🚙 Motorists 🚘:
• Slow down and stay alert, especially in areas with heavy pedestrian traffic.
• Yield to pedestrians who are crossing in a marked or unmarked crosswalk at an intersection.
• Look carefully for pedestrians before turning.
• Never pass another vehicle that has stopped for a pedestrian.
• Avoid distractions and keep your eyes on the road.

Crashes between vehicles and pedestrians have the highest probability for significant injury, so we kindly ask all road users; pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists alike to travel safely and watch out for one another.

Drive and walk safely, Rocklin!

Some people live life a quarter mile at a time. Some people build that ten-second car. And some people think they are living the real life, Fast & Furious, when they race their Mustangs up to 75 mph in a 45 mph zone on Wildcat Blvd in front of our Traffic Unit, who is in a fully marked black-and-white police vehicle.

Needless to say, parents were called, citations were issued, DMV reevaluations were issued (Yes, that’s a thing), and maybe even a tow truck was called 🤷🏻‍♂️

Look, Fam, Life’s Simple. You make choices, and you don't look back… But maybe look back first before you choose to race in front of the cops next time.

Also… 🤫 Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda Civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three T66 turbos with NOS and a Motec exhaust system.
