The Abington Township Police Department wants to warn our residents of driveway paving scams in the area. These individuals are operating without permits and overcharging for work. In many cases, the suspects will approach homeowners directly and solicit the work, often claiming they have leftover materials or can offer a discounted price for immediate service. We recommend that before you agree to any work, you obtain multiple quotes from reputable contractors and thoroughly verify the credentials of anyone offering services at your home. If you believe you have been the victim of this type of scam or encounter suspicious activity, please contact the Abington Township Police Department to report it. at 267-536-1100.

Road Closure Alert

Old York Road is closed southbound between Old Welsh Road and Rockwell Road due to a vehicle accident. One lane of traffic remains open northbound.

This roadway is expected to remain closed for an extended period of time. Please avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

Road closure - Susquehanna Road is closed in both directions at Fitzwatertown Road for a vehicle accident. Susquehanna road will be closed for an extended time due to an investigation. Please avoid the area.

At approximately 2:30pm the Abington Township Police Department responded to an assault involving a knife that occurred at the Willow Grove Park Mall. The suspect is in custody, and there is no threat to the community. Victim sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital.
