Serving Our Community with Pride and Accountability
Since being elected Highway Superintendent in 2022, I’ve focused on improving safety, efficiency, and the overall condition of our town’s roads and infrastructure. I want to share some of what’s been accomplished so far:
• Paved 24 miles of road
• Sealed 46 miles of road
• Replaced 2,250 feet of drainage pipe
• Implemented a guardrail replacement program so that every year, broken or damaged guardrails—some that have been that way for years—are being replaced
• Replaced 15 pieces of equipment to improve reliability and performance
• Completed numerous repairs and upgrades to the town barn
• Cleared additional land to create more space for material and supply storage
Part of being a Highway Superintendent is handling the paperwork and documentation needed to secure state funding. Every year, I’ve done that work to ensure our town receives the funding it deserves. So far, I’ve brought in $1,785,433.56 in state aid over my first three years in office, and I’m expecting close to $600,000 more this year.
In addition to that, I secured nearly $20,000 last year in reimbursement for the pipe and stone work completed on Brown Settlement Road, and I’m expecting another $60,000 in reimbursement for two major riprap repairs on Beaverkill Valley, the 5-foot pipe replacement on Mud Pond, and the one-month excavator rental needed to complete those jobs.
Every dollar received and reimbursed helps save taxpayer money while keeping our roads safe, reliable, and well-maintained.
I’m proud of the progress that’s been made and remain committed to serving our community with integrity, accountability, and care.
