The month of September is dedicated to raising awareness about su***de, and elevating resources that can help support people thinking about su***de.

Many survivors need support around their mental health and may have thoughts of su***de.

It is common for survivors to feel trapped with a partner, and sometimes even to think that dying by su***de is the only way they can escape. It is also very common for people who are abusive to intentionally undermine their partners’ mental health, something advocates often call “mental health coercion.”

Work to support survivors who are navigating thoughts of su***de is best done in community–we are thankful for a robust network of mental health care providers, social workers, medical providers, and community organizations in the Midcoast.

Survivors: regardless of where you are at with your mental health, we want to support you.

We can help you form a safety plan and connect you to area resources as you create pathways to a safer, happier future. Call us 24/7 at 1-800-522-3304 or visit NewHopeMidcoast.org.

Our 45th August Anniversary events at Maine Maritime Museum in Bath and Center for Maine Contemporary Art in Rockland were wonderful! 💜

We enjoyed words from Executive Director, Peg Drisko and Board President, Sarah Post, brief talks from members of our Leadership Team, a Pecha Kucha-style presentation, and plenty of hors d'oeuvres, beverages, and cake!

We thank our two venues for hosting us, as well as food, beverage, and flower providers Solo Pane e Pasticceria and Hawkes Flowers & Gifts in Bath, Main Street Markets, Rockland Food Service, Flowers by Hoboken of Rockland, and Hansen's Cakes and Confections in Owls Head.

Round Up in August at Liberty Graphics Camden!

Liberty Graphics in Camden is partnering with us this month.

This Maine-made company is owned and managed entirely by a cooperative made up of its workers.

Now you can round up your Liberty Graphics purchases made in August to support our comprehensive services for victims of domestic abuse.

We are grateful to Liberty Graphics and our coastal communities for this opportunity!
