Congratulations to the graduates of the Rockland County Police and Public Safety Academy.

After months of rigorous training, unwavering dedication, and personal sacrifice, these men and women have earned the privilege of serving and protecting our communities. As they begin their careers in law enforcement, they enter one of the most demanding and honorable professions.

I congratulate each graduate on this significant achievement and wish them long, safe, and successful careers in service to our community.

Great catching up with Ted Deutch, President and CEO of the American Jewish Committee and former MENA Chairman, to discuss the critical work ahead for the Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee (MENA).

We spoke about upcoming subcommittee priorities, my newly introduced Jewish American Security Act, and the ongoing situation with Iran. As MENA Chairman, I remain committed to ensuring the Iranian regime does not pose a threat to the United States, Israel, or our allies and partners across the region.

Proud to recognize five-year-old Watson Padovani of Somers for showing that you’re never too young to make a difference.

Earlier this month, Watson held his third annual lemonade stand, raising more than $2,000 for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation to support children and families battling childhood cancer. Thank you Watson for your kindness, generosity, and inspiring our community through your incredible example.

Housing affordability is one of the defining challenges of our time, and I’ve been at the forefront of efforts to pass a bipartisan housing package.

With an 8 million unit shortage and mortgage rates at a 30-year high, we need real action. Homeownership shouldn’t be out of reach for hardworking families, I look forward to this bill being signed into law.

The Old ‘76 House in Tappan, one of the Hudson Valley’s most historic landmarks, has stood at the center of our nation’s history for centuries.

From the Revolutionary War to the earliest calls for American independence, I was proud to recognize this remarkable site.

As we approach America’s 250th birthday, we honor its enduring legacy and its continued role in preserving our nation’s history for future generations.

I have consistently advocated for extending Temporary Protected Status for Haitian nationals. I co-led H.R. 1689 with Rep. Laura Gillen, urged the Administration on multiple occasions to extend TPS protections, led a bipartisan effort with local officials in support of Haitian TPS recipients. Just this year, I voted in favor of our bill after signing the discharge petition that brought this legislation to the House floor.

Proud to secure $5 million for the Town of Clarkstown’s Transit-Oriented Development Project in Nanuet as part of the $31 million FY26 Appropriations Package I secured for New York’s 17th District.

This funding will support critical water and sewer upgrades, improve roadway and pedestrian safety, enhance downtown streetscapes, and address longstanding drainage issues that have hindered development.

These investments will expand workforce housing, support local businesses, improve accessibility, and strengthen downtown Nanuet for years to come.

I had the honor of recognizing the life and legacy of Carmine Caponigro, a decorated veteran, respected oral surgeon, educator, and devoted family man.

Carmine dedicated his life to serving others, from his service in the U.S. Army to caring for patients and mentoring future dental professionals in Rockland County.

His kindness, humility, and unwavering commitment to others left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory be a blessing.

Getting the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act across the finish line is a top priority.

Since coming to Congress, I’ve been leading the effort to expand access to affordable housing, cut through outdated red tape, and strengthen the housing supply. I’m proud that six of my bills are included in the final package, which will help lower costs, increase opportunity, and have a lasting positive impact on our economy. I look forward to this bill being signed into law.

On the House floor, I honored Bill Ritter for his decades of dedicated service to New Yorkers through broadcast journalism.

A trusted voice in our community, Bill led with integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to keeping the public informed at WABC’s Eyewitness News.

As he begins retirement following his diagnosis of early-stage Alzheimer’s disease, I join countless New Yorkers in thanking him for his remarkable career and wishing him and his family strength in the days ahead.
