Weekend Incidents

BURGLARY TO VEHICLE – On Friday, September 11, 2026, at approximately 2:50 am, Rockford Police SCOPE (Specialized Community Oriented Police Enforcement) officers observed a suspect, later identified as Davontrae Pendelton, break a window of a vehicle near Central Avenue and Mulberry Street before entering another vehicle. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle near Loomis and Corbin Streets, where they detained three occupants. During the investigation, SCOPE officers located and recovered burglary tools and suspected Ecstasy tablets.

After reviewing the facts of the case, the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office authorized the charges listed below. Pursuant to pre-trial release requirements under Illinois law, all three are no longer in custody.

FATAL CRASH – On Saturday, September 11, 2026, at around 2:30 pm, Rockford Police officers responded to the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Holmes Street for reports of a motorcycle vs vehicle crash. The motorcyclist, a 33-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.

POSSESSION OF CO***NE WITH INTENT TO DELIVER – On Sunday, September 13, 2026, at approximately 11:42 pm, Rockford Police SCOPE (Specialized Community Oriented Police Enforcement) officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of E. State and Madison Streets. During the stop, the rear passenger, later identified as Jzeon Aldridge, was detained and resisted arrest. Officers ultimately located more than 75 grams of cannabis, more than 4 grams of crack co***ne, and ecstasy.

After reviewing the facts of the case, the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office authorized the charges listed below. Aldridge is currently lodged in the County Jail.

Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver
Resisting Arrest

As with any and all investigations, there may be additional charges and arrests.

The charges are merely accusations, and all individuals are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
