As you are likely aware, severe weather is forecasted for tonight, 3-15-26 and into the morning. Given the anticipated timing of the weather system's arrival during early morning hours when most residents will be asleep, it is crucial to have a functioning weather alert radio in your home. Although cell phones have become a common alternative, a weather alert radio remains a valuable backup option. Please note that Coosa County, while part of the Birmingham market, receives coverage from the Birmingham, Montgomery, and Mt. Cheaha transmitter sites. If reception is poor from one site, try the other two for optimal reception quality. The accompanying image illustrates the locations and frequencies of Weather Radio transmitters, as well as the corresponding SAME codes for each county. These codes enable radios to alert users when specific weather information is issued for their county. The SAME code for Coosa County is 001037.
Stay safe. In prayer for minimal impact to our county.

Lets be careful Hanover. It's that strange time of year where it's nice outside and feels like a good day to burn, but fire danger is high till we get some long-term humidity. A 5 Ac brush fire tonight from an unattended rubbish burn. Accidents happen, we get it. Stay with fires until they are out or extinguish them when you are going to leave them.

We worked this fire today in support of Stewartville Fire and heard this incident unfold as we responded.
Every little bit you can give will help Weogufka Fire.
If you live in this county, you know all the 10 departments support each other.
It's not just the truck but the equipment onboard.
We are not aware of the details of the incident. We just know as a department we only see a hole in the mutual support chain of Coosa County.

As we commence the new year, we would like to extend sincere greetings to the community of Hanover and Coosa County in general. Let us prioritize safety in 2026. Notably, Hanover concluded 2025 with 130 calls for service, representing only a modest .3% increase from the previous year. Let us strive to make this year even more responsible and safe.

To the Hanover and greater Coosa County community, our winter fundraising campaign is nearing its conclusion with approximately 100 tickets remaining. We invite your participation in this effort through ticket purchases, acknowledging the critical role these fundraising initiatives play in supporting our local fire department beyond personal benefits. The department relies heavily on charitable donations, receiving limited taxpayer funding of merely $5,000 annually, which falls short of covering essential operational expenses. Our commitment to responding to calls remains unwavering; however, the unsustainable funding situation may compel us to restrict operations, jeopardizing our existence. With only three original members still active, the department's dissolution would be a significant loss before these dedicated individuals retire. Purchasing a raffle ticket signifies support for a worthy cause and ensures assistance when needed. At $20 per ticket, we are not asking for a sacrifice, but rather a demonstration of appreciation for our department's service and a commitment to ensuring timely emergency response. Your contribution will help maintain our ability to provide critical services, such as responding to accidents and combating fires, and support our dedicated personnel.
