Ice Rescue Training 2026

This morning, the Cannon Township Fire Department headed out to Bostwick Lake for our annual Ice Rescue Training. We weren't alone, we were proud to train alongside our partners from the Rockford Public Safety Department - Fire Division and Grattan Township Fire Department

Joint maneuvers like these are about more than just practice; they ensure that when an emergency happens, our agencies move as one seamless team. From honing technical rescue skills to perfecting our communication, we’re committed to being ready when you need us most.

Safety Advisory: We urge residents to remain vigilant. No ice is 100% safe, especially during transitional thaws.

A huge “THANK YOU” to Bostwick Lake Association!

What a fantastic morning! Thank you to everyone who came out to support our annual Pancake Breakfast and help us kick off Fire Prevention Month. This event is truly our favorite way to reach out and connect with our community!

We couldn't have done it without the incredible support from our sponsors: Flying W Ranch, The Tilted Tulip, Pro Asphalt Maintenance, Morris Farms, and Pro Karate Rockford. Thank you, Pat Alles, for making us custom firefighter aprons!

A huge shout-out as well to all the organizations that volunteered and helped make today a success: Kent County Sheriff's Office, Rockford Ambulance, Nelson’s Towing, Riding for Ryan, and Great Lakes Burn Camp for Kids.

We are so grateful for our supportive and amazing community! Until next time, stay safe.
