Two women from UIC who felt it was wrong to have sexual assault victims enter the emergency room without the provision of support and information started Rockford Sexual Assault Counseling (RSAC) in 1977. With funding from the Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault (ICASA) beginning in 1982 and Rockford United Way beginning in 1984, RSAC has grown into a professional and volunteer nonprofit agency that serves Winnebago, Boone and Ogle counties. Thirteen professional staff and thirty volunteers provide the five key services to survivors and significant others.

RSAC is holding our 40-hour sexual assault/abuse volunteer training where you'll learn how you can be a support and resource for survivors. 20 hours of the training is self-study and 20 hours is in-person with RSAC staff.
