It’s time to celebrate 25 years of the Fossil and Prairie Center. For 25 years we have been welcoming visitors from across the world, have hosted thousands of students on field trips and offered various programs to the public. Come join us until 4:00pm today to preview Road Trip Iowa produced by PBS, view the changes throughout the center over the years, sign up for door prizes and enjoy refreshments!

Join us Sunday, May 10 from 12:30–4:00 p.m. as we celebrate 25 years of visitors, school groups, and historic preservation at the Fossil & Prairie Center.

🎉 The Visitor Center is opening for the season on May 2! 🎉

Come explore a hidden gem where you can search for Devonian fossils, wander through beautiful native prairie, and discover the historic beehive kilns that helped shape Iowa’s agricultural roots.

🕒 Park Hours: Open daily from sunrise to sunset
🏡 Visitor Center Hours:
• Opens May 2 (Saturdays only in May, 1–4 PM)
• Open daily May 23 – September 7
• Open weekends in September & October

Whether you're into history, nature, or just a relaxing day outside, this is a perfect spot to explore. Bring the family and see what you can discover!
