Come on out at 5 PM on the 27th for an evening of fun and music. Thanks for covering this, Queens Chronicle!

As Rosh Hashanah begins this evening, I wish our Jewish friends and neighbors a peaceful and sweet New Year.

May the year ahead bring health, strength, and many blessings.

Twenty-five years later, and September 11th still feels like it just happened.

We all remember so vividly where we were when we heard the news. We remember the fear and heartbreak when we realized that our country was under attack. We remember the faces of those we lost, and the courage of the first responders who ran toward danger while everyone else was trying to get to safety.

So many families here in District 32, across our city, and across our country still live with that loss every single day. Their loved ones are not just names or numbers. They were parents, children, spouses, friends, neighbors, and coworkers.

Today, we remember them. We honor them. And we make sure the next generation understands why we must always live up to our solemn promise to Never Forget.

Earlier today I introduced Resolution 0007, which I co-prime sponsored along with Speaker Julie Menin, to call on the New York State Legislature to pass, and the Governor to sign, legislation to incorporate a 9/11 curriculum in all New York schools.

We made a promise to Never Forget. Now is the time to live up to that promise, and ensure that future generations will always remember the sacrifices made on that tragic day 25 years ago.

The team from ACE New York was out in Glendale recently, working hard to keep Myrtle Avenue looking its best.

ACE does an amazing job keeping our neighborhoods clean while also providing job training and opportunities to homeless and at-risk New Yorkers so they can get back on their feet. They really do have an amazing mission, and it is an honor to provide funding for them! Thank you for all you do, ACE!

The conditions outside the library in Broad Channel were looking pretty overgrown. My office was able to work with the team over at the Queens Public Library, however, and we got it taken care of with a much-needed haircut!

Thanks for getting this done, QPL!

As I said during today's hearing, it was absolutely egregious that the administration refused to alert the public to the fact that the 911 system was partially shut down. As a result, over a thousand 911 calls failed to receive assistance in a timely manner, and this could have had lethal consequences.

I am in City Hall right now, co-chairing a hearing to investigate the failure of the city’s 911 system last month, and the administration's failure to inform anyone of that failure for a startling seven hours.

You can watch the hearing live at the link below:

The crew from ACE New York was out in Rockaway recently, cleaning up the once-notorious litter hotspot on Beach 100th Street across from the Beach Channel Educational campus.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the men and women of ACE, we are able to keep litter here under control so that residents in the area can enjoy the quality of life they deserve.

Thank you for all that you do, ACE! It is an honor to fund your mission!
