The City of Rock Valley will be holding a public informational meeting regarding the FEMA Home Buyout Program on Thursday, June 4th following the City Council meeting.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide an update on the status of the City’s buyout application, explain the next steps in the process, and answer questions from property owners.
Meeting times:
• 6:00 PM — English presentation
• 7:00 PM — Presentation with translator available
The City’s application is currently in the final stage of FEMA review, and we are continuing to prepare for the next steps so the process can move as quickly as possible once the application is approved.
Property owners are also encouraged to begin bringing their property abstracts to City Hall so they can be updated ahead of time. The more abstracts that are updated before the project is obligated, the faster the process can move forward once our application is obligated by FEMA. The City will provide a receipt when abstracts are turned in.
In addition, the City is asking property owners to sign Right of Entry forms that will allow inspections to be completed for asbestos testing as part of the buyout process.
All affected property owners are strongly encouraged to attend. Your cooperation will help keep this process moving forward.
If you have questions, please contact City Hall in person at 1303 10th Street or by phone at (712) 476-5707.
