Volunteer Today, The Sweetwater Literacy Center Needs Your Help!!

¡Hazte voluntario hoy mismo! ¡El Sweetwater Literacy Center necesita tu ayuda!

The Sweetwater Literacy Center is growing faster than we imagined and the summer has brought many new students. While we are thrilled that so many families are seeking help, we currently have a waiting list of students ready to learn, but we are in need of additional volunteers!!

Perhaps that can be you! The best way to predict a child's future is by giving the gift of literacy.

You don’t need to be a professional teacher to make a difference. If you have a love for reading and a heart for our community, we will provide the training you need to help a student move from "frustrated" to "fluent."

Training and instruction materials are provided, you don't need a teaching background but a passion for literacy and helping children is required :)

Flexible Scheduling: We work around your availability.

Be the Bridge: Help us ensure that every child in Rock Springs is given the tools to read and write.

Join our mission! Whether you’re a retired professional, a college student, or just someone who believes literacy is a right, we need you!

We Need Your Help!

This year Young at Heart has 40 seniors needing support in caring for their pets. Our 'Care for Critters' event just ended and we only have enough supplies for ten pets. We'll be distributing supplies on May 28, but we need your help to not leave pets out!

You can help by:
Cash donations: stop in or call 307-352-6737 and specify it's for 'Care for Critters'

Stop in and pick up a tag from our pet house

Drop by donations of:
- Dog food
- Dog treats
- Cat food
- Cat litter

All brands are welcome!

We're open 8am - 4pm Monday through Friday, at 2400 Reagan Avenue in Rock Springs.

We’re excited to see Young at Heart Community Center begin a new chapter with the hiring of a new Executive Director. Young at Heart plays such an important role in our community—providing meals, connection, support, and services that help local seniors stay healthy, engaged, and independent. We look forward to the continued impact this organization will have for generations to come. Congratulations and welcome!
