Another round of burns scheduled for today, Friday, March 20th

Prescribed burns are planned on over 700 acres in Walker County today, Friday, March 20. Locations include Rocky Lane at Allen Creek Road on Pigeon Mountain, Harold Clements Drive off Highway 136, Fuquea Drive in the Chickamauga area, and Camp Adahi Road and Highway 157 in the Menlo area. Please do not report smoke coming from these areas.

Also, the West Armuchee community to Villanow will be impacted by a burn on Black Springs Creek Road on the Chattooga County line.

Georgia Forestry and Georgia DNR will be conducting prescribed burns in the following areas today: Pigeon Mountain (near McCutchen Spring and Atwood Point) and 846 Lower Mill Creek Road. Please do not report smoke coming from these areas.

Another round of prescribed burns will take place today in Walker County. Smoke can be expected in the following areas:

🔥71 acres in the Pocket Road area near the Walker-Floyd County line
🔥1045 acres in the area of East Armuchee Rd and Manning Mill Rd at the Walker-Chattooga County line
🔥69 acres near Concord Road
🔥100 acres near Hideaway Hills
🔥850 Acres in the Chickamauga Battlefield near Brotherton Rd and LaFayette Road

Be advised, several prescribed burns will be taking place in the southern end of the county today.

Georgia Forestry will be conducting several prescribed burns in Walker County today. Burns are planned on 1,000 acres near 332 Blue Hole Rd; 1,004 acres near Forest Service Rd 231, and 20 acres near 655 Walnut Grove. Smoke will be visible in these areas.
