Unfortunately, we have some sad news to share with our community.

The City Walk Bridge near the park has been inspected by a State-licensed bridge inspector and has been recommended for closure due to structural concerns. The issues identified involve not only portions of the wood decking and supports, but also areas where the wood and metal components of the bridge connect.

This bridge is much more than a structure. For many residents, it is a daily walking route, a connection to our park, and a part of countless memories made over the years. Because of its importance to our community, this matter will be placed on the upcoming City Council agenda for discussion and consideration.

While this news is disappointing, the safety of our residents must remain our top priority. We will be reviewing the inspector's findings, discussing potential options, and determining the best path forward for the future of this valued community asset.

We know many people will have questions and concerns, and we will continue to provide updates as information becomes available.

As pool season begins, we wanted to remind everyone that any pool deeper than 24 inches is required to be enclosed by a fence at least 42 inches in height with a lockable gate.

Just a friendly reminder to please avoid driving side by sides through the park and up near the ballfields and snack shack area. Golf carts and authorized park vehicles are fine, but we’ve recently had some larger side by sides driving directly up to the north field area.

We want to help keep the park safe for kids, families, and everyone enjoying the games, while also protecting the grounds. We appreciate everyone’s help and cooperation!
